Guided visit of the INAF Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory and historic Villa Galileo (August 9, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM)
This visit offers a unique bridge between the past and future of astronomy. You will explore Villa Galileo (“Il Gioiello”), the residence where Galileo Galilei spent the final decade of his life (1631–1642) and completed his groundbreaking work. The tour continues at the nearby Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory, one of INAF leading institutes for astrophysical research.
The tour includes round-trip shuttle service from downtown Florence. It will take place on August 9, at 5:00 PM and is expected to last approximately 2 hours (excluding transit). Detailed information about the meeting point, departure time, and itinerary will be sent to registered participants closer to the event. Due to logistical constraints, participation is strictly limited to 50 people. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
